What a let down...

A friend and I went to this spot he had permission to hunt the other day. It was a old motel site supposedly along with a single pump gas station. The hotel and gas station are no longer there but a few stables and other old structures were still there. I had such high hopes when we got there but were quickly dashed after a few minutes of hunting due to constant nulling. Went to zero iron mask hoping to catch a high tone in between the iron and was shocked by the amount if rusting bits and pieces of iron that laid on the ground! The only time a good signals could sneak through the low tones were just bullet shells. What was causing the head ache was iron chips about a inch wide and long and smaller bits as well. It carpeted the entire area. I wish I had a 5 inch coil for the Explorer. Horrible. Just horrible !
I will not surrender this easily and plan on going back with a vengeance! A thatch rake to clean up the top layer of dirt and a smaller coil investment will be brought with us next time. Any other advice ?

And just for that Im gonna drag you and your SE along with me next time I go!!
So there!

A very high junk area is what made me add the Sun Ray X-5 Stealth Coil - and it was so bad I still couldn't stand it.

Disc nails then edit it to make it a little larger and disc crown caps. If you are hunting in Cond switch to Ferr sounds. Use auto sensitivity at 28 and allow the machine to work.

If it's that bad then perhaps hunting with the inline probe might be an answer. You can't get a smaller coil than that.
