What are these little metal doodas

I keep finding these little buggers on a soccer/football field. Usually near the end zone/goal posts. Do they have to do with goalie nets? TID around 25.
I'm also posting on the "Fisher F Series" Forum.
Thx for thoughts.
 
I think they are what is used to hold the net to the metal goal post thingy...

I was thinking the net thing too, but they are not very strong metal. Very soft. We used to tie our nets with zip-ties or "s" hooks. I think I will have to catch up to one of the maintenance guys and see if they know. Thx for looking.
 
I was thinking they are for holding a ace bandage,, but why would there be so many and they don't look quite right.
 
not thinking the ACE thing just due to the size and lack of strength. I am still waiting to run into one of my maintenance guys to pick their brains. Driving me crazy. Thx for the look and reply.
 
I would vote for bandage thingies although I have not seen ones like that I have seen similar ones. Maybe somebody dumped out a pocket full of them.
