What are your thoughts ?

I'm strictly a coin and jewelry hunter and I am torn between
these (3) machines. The Silver Umax , The Golden Umax, and the DeLeon.

I like the added screen but will it perform just as good as the Silver and the Gold Umax
and can the DeLeon also use the clean sweep coil.

Somebody ....help me decide!

Thanks!

well I run the Silver with the CSC and absolutely clean house,,,, but am pretty sure I would get all the detector your budget can handle,,, the other two you mentioned would be just as good with more tuning for you,,, not sure if the CSC will fit maybe someone can help you or call Tesoro and ask HH

All three machines you mention are preset ground balance which may be an issue in some areas. I have 2 Silver Sabre

For jewelry the Golden has adjustable Notch to knock out most pulltabs and screwcaps. Turning the adjustable Notch knob counter clockwise knocks out even more (broken off beaver tails) and still gets ladies gold rings. You won't hear the shallower tabs but you may still hear some deep tabs. But turning the Threshold CCW knocks out those deep tabs when Notch is used. Notch does not knock out coins, you still hear them.

Have you ever thought about the Lobo SuperTRAQ? I hunt in all metal and flip over to discriminate. Talk about depth? The stock elipical DD coil gives you a lot! - Terry

I have used the DeLeon for 6 years now and have pulled many coins and rings out of the ground. I love the visual TID, and it goes fairly deep. Just got the 5.75 coil for it and was able to single out 3 pennies, 1 nickle, 2 quarters and 2 dimes within a 12" radius.

I agree. Golden uMax with CleanSweep coil. Set your notch and dig everything that repeats! Why waste time with TID, especially when using the CSC and most targets will be shallow?

You can use the uMax clean sweep coil on any of the uMax models, including the DeLeon.

I'm not the biggest fan of screens because they are notoriously inaccurate.

Choosing between the Silver and Golden uMax largely comes down to cost.

If you can afford the Golden and a clean sweep coil, I'd get the Golden because that notch feature would come in mighty handy.

If your budget is tight, there's no shame at all with the Silver and a Clean Sweep. I hear the 10x12 coil on the Silver is a depth demon too.
