The DD and Concentric are a bit different. I'm guessing you mean the 9x12 concentric. The added depth may not be worth the expense. You would benefit much more with the 5x8DD. It picks through trash and pin points better than the 8.5x11DD. I average 6 to 8 inches in my soil with it.

I'm using the 5x8, 8.5x11, and NEL Big. pretty nice round up of coils for me. 5x8 is really really nice. super light and really gets into trashy areas.
9 x 12 concentric for coin and jeweler hunting, 5 x 8 for relic hunting. I like to use the 8 1/2 x 11 coil on the Pro for fresh water hunting.
