what detector does everyone use?

I have a Ace 250 and love it. I spoke with Al at Pro-stock just this week about accuracy and depth. He said garrett offers the sniper coil for accuracy and a 9x12 coil for depth. I am considering one or the other as a cheaper solution for a more expensive machine.

I have a White's M6, that I like. I also have a White's Surf PI Pro, for use on the salt water beaches that I will be hunting at. I haven't got out with them much, as I am waiting until I retire in July. Then I can watch the tides, and get out anytime that I want. Retiring is the inspiration for my user name FreeMan08. NO more time clock!!!!!:clapping: I'll be freeeeeee!!! ( except for my wife's Honey Do list)

Fisher 1266 XB and very happy with it. I still will upgrade eventually and have a few different models in mind because I would like something with variable frequencies, noise cancellation and more control over ground balance. Problem is there are so many cool units out there which makes the decision harder.

Stick around, post often!

God bless!

Goes4ever,

I use the Minelab XS for land and CZ20 for water. Completely satisfied with both. I bought my Explorer of Ebay with no regrets.

Garrett Ace 250 :detecting:

I use 2 Fisher CZ-21's for the water and a White's DFX for land. A CZ-20 is on its way so I will have one with an 8" coil.

I am probably selling the DFX because I don't land hunt much anymore.

thanks everyone for your wonderful input on your detectors. It is amazing how many different brands everyone has. Like you said it is all about learning your machine. I have had my tesoro for a little over a year and I am still learning what the machine is all about. It is amazing how much more I am in tune with my detector from a year ago.....especially when hitting on the real deep targets. It definitely takes practice and like some of you said it takes patience!!! I catch myself at times wanting a bigger and better detector, but wisdom dictates that I learn the one I have now first.

I did a lot of research on a lot of different detectors before purchasing a tesoro brand. I had gotten out of detecting for over 20 years and wanted to get back into it again without spending big dollars. The Tesoro Silver U max is a great coin shooting machine that acutally had unbelievable depth for a 250 dollar machine. I have taken a barber and a couple of mercs around 8 inches. You really have to listen for the real light hits, but it can get the job done.

Thanks again for the input everyone and God Bless!!!

MY T2 BLOWS THE REST OF MINE AWAY--THIS HOT TAMALE IS SO DEEP JUST LIKE THE:minelab: EXPLORER AND :fisher:THE F-75.ITS NOT ONLY DEEP BUT VERY ACCURATE:clapping:ITS VERY AFFORTABLE IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO GO:bouncy:NOT ALL DEALERS ARE CHEAP!!!

Thanks Don! I could probably go deeper, as I found a gold ring at 7 inches after digging PULL TABS but I just got to where I couldn't do all that digging, so I probably have my discrimination too high in the coin and jewelry program I have loaded into my detector which I used or use most of the time! Let's just say the older I become the lazier I get! Good luck with your detector and hope you find lots of goodies including that elusive gold coin! :)

God Bless!

Thank you and glad the T2 is a very good detector! You won't die if you find a gold coin, you will be thanking God and ready to show it to anyone who will look at it....but don't let anyone take it out of your hand!

I wish I was able to go :detecting: more than I have, as I do miss finding the goodies or seeing what comes out of the next hole! :)

But I detected a long, long time and had fun doing it...some days... fantastic.....other days.....skunked...but still enjoyed the exercise and being out in God's beautiful creations!

God Bless & Happy Hunting and go for the gold!
