7centsworth

Well-known member
I am looking to purchase a good digging tool. I was wondering what yall use and what you recommend?

I had all the diggin tools, I always go back to my old buck knife.

The 3 in 1 digging tool is a great one, but my all time favorite now is the Predator tools "Raptor" George Lesche of Predator tools makes the best quality digger available! Made in the USA :usaflag:

Thanks kinkachulou, but that is the one I had and just broke the handle off it had lifetime warranty but I got it on clearance at lowes and it will cost almost as much to send it back as it will a new one. That was the best digger I have used yet . Welcome to the forum .

wow you broke it? that is the same one I have used for well over a year now, I bet I have dug a thousand holes with mine!

I use a lesche digger, but it only cuts good. Too narrow of a blade to scoop with.

Use a Do-It-Best planter shovel, about 2 3/4 wide. Digs great and scoops ok. I can cut a plug with it with no problem. Only cost about $8.00. Going to get one of those Lesche diggers Mike was talking about.

I have been looking at them and they are about 39 dollars.

I have lots of digging tools, but the best one is a small shovel that my detector dealer gave me after I lost the one that came with the XLT. It is small and scoops good! But I don't dig deep holes, so the one made of Stainless Steel that a Club Member made and sold for $10.00 years ago which has a longer handle and scoop area would be better for larger holes! Ma just cannot dig deeper holes and most coins I've found are 8" to 10" or less...most are 4 inches, even the silver I have found over the time I did detect! Hope you find a good one and find lots of goodies! :) God Bless! Betty
