What do you all think is the best frequency for US Dimes and Quarters...silver and clad..

18 KHz is good for dimes and half dimes (i.e., smaller coins) while 12 KHz is good for the the larger coins.

It will vary by personal preference but I get better depth with 8 kHz but better target ID in 12 kHz in my ground.

I use 11khz..

I used 18K for a log time with my new Deus because I was trying to go for the Gold. It worked OK...but it was also super sensitive for all the small trash, aluminum and foil and gave me a bad impression of the Deus and it's capability.

Then for a few months I kept it on 4K, both small and large coil. It separates out the crown caps (beer caps) by ringing them up about 92- 93 while quarters and dimes were in the mid to low 80's. This was beautiful in the trash sites with all the crown caps and opened up a half dozen sites that were normally undetectable for me. I picked up many. many handfuls of clad and a few silvers. It made me appreciate the Deus a lot more.

Now I try to run in 8K and 12K as I've seen indications that these are deeper frequencies for coins...in general. I also understand that with zero disc greater accurate VDI depths can be reached... so I have a special coin program set up in 4 tones and no disc. Haven't used it enough to say it's good or not but I'll keep trying.

Oh...one last thing on the beach pocket spills are pretty common so whenever I need to rescan the hole on these...going into RELIC mode will usually bring up one or two extra coins...very interesting.
