What do you get when you combine a F75 LTD with DST and a F5 10" elliptical concentric coil?

What do you get when you combine a F75 LTD with DST and a F5 10" elliptical concentric coil? Why......GOLD! of course. Nice 14kt gold.

I like the 10" elliptical concentric coil on my F5. So I went online to figure out what a 10" elliptical coil would cost for my F75. Hmmmmm......Then a thought hit me. I wonder if my F5 coil would work on my F75? Probably not. But hey, why not check it out. It it works I saved a bunch of money. If it doesn't I'd order the F75/F70 version.

So Sunday morning I got up early to take the F75 hunting and took along the F5 coil. When I got to the park I replaced the 11" DD with the F5 coil and tried it out. Wow....it worked. Actually worked very good. So good I never took it off. Very good discrimination

This nice 14K ring was a solid 25. I'll be back with more details later.

Nice hit. Is the F5 10 inch concentric similar to the F70 10 inch concentric. ?I picked up an F70 concentric for my F75 Se but have yet to use it.

Nice ring mike , I think the 10" conc. coil I have for my f- 70 kicks butt on my f-75 ltd. I picked up a nice gold ring with it 7" deep. Got to love when we all see the color gold in the hole. GS

Mike,
You trained that coil on the F5 to find you gold. I think it still remembers the lessons!

Nice ring!!
Cheers,

nice ring mike. My primary unit is an F5 with 11 inch DD but have been eyeing a new f75LTD. after 250 hours of hunting, I have come to understand location and discrimination mean more than depth. would you agree with this? also, do you think the 75LTD is "worth it" if I am a relatively tight budget? or is the F5 75% of the machine of the LTD? I have thought about ust getting an F70 as well. maybe selling the F5 and buying an F70. is that just a dimb idea? thanks.

Hi 3bet.

If you want to upgrade, jump past the F70 straight into a F75LTD. Make sure you get one with the new features though.

You remember the movie, "The Highlander" ? Well, if there truly 'can be only one', the F75 LTD with the new features is the one to have. A true multipurpose unit that can do all things well. I'm an urban hunter, so yes, location and discrimination first, followed by depth but the F75LTD gives you all three.

You start off with 2 coils, 5"DD and the 11" DD when you purchase. You only need to add a 10" Eliptical for advanced discrimination, and then later you might want to add a larger coil to cover all your bases, and you can be good to go for years.

Hi Mike, My unit is in El Paso being upgraded at moment, i've just bought it and am unfamilier with it, my question is why the 10" coil, isn't the 11" DD enough

adespin,

Search loops are tools. The stock 11" Biaxial coil is a great tool. However there are times you will need a smaller or larger coil and there are times you will want more discrimination ability. Also each coil has a different footprint based upon size and design and while you can adjust the footprint via the sensitivity setting, there are inherent characteristics that make one design more suited to a particular task than another.

You would be surprised how easy it is to carry an alternate coil (s) on your person and what a difference it makes when you adjust your coil selection to site conditions.

Mike, any thoughts on the 5x10 and the 6.5? As long as we are rounding the bases. We can worry about SEF, etc. later. Oh, I have a U13 that is made for F75 that I run on my G2/GBP working just fine.
Thanks, Tom
