What do you guys do the "Off Season"

In Georgia ( Northern Part) North East of Atlanta, those things were everywhere when I tried detecting.......
Several were coiled and ready to strike.. I didn't last long detecting there..

Snakes means NO DETECTING to me...........I didn't even think about it before I went out while visiting my brother.. I'm not used to having to watch for them..

As my handle indicated I live in South Carolina. About 20 miles from Charleston. I hunt, Fish, Metal detect etc. I prefer being outdoors. It is extremely rare that I see a snake let alone a poisonous one. Deer Season opens in Eastern SC on Aug 15 and it is HOT. I have been in the woods starting on opening day thru closing on Jan 1. Did not over the past 40 years see but three or four rattlers, a couple of copperheads and one cotton mouth. I saw a lot more non poisonous snakes than poisonous ones.

It gets HOT here in the summer but I still go out detecting. I just have to make sure that I keep hydrated and maybe cut the number of hours that I am out by a little.

I grew up in the land of snow and ice in the winter and am very glad that the U S Navy saw fit to transfer me south back in 1965. With the exception of three years in Puerto Rico I have been here ever since and the next time I move away from here will be in a pine box.

They really don't eat much I don't care for snakes either but if one of us has to go....lol My real threat are irresponsible dog owners (let their dog off the leash) that keep telling me, "oh don't worry fluffy won't hurt you" lol ya right I have heard that one before.

To answer the question, "What do you guys do in the "Off season" " I increase my bodyweight exercise routine and take a walk in the evening. Sometimes it is difficult in the Winter with homeowners not clearing the sidewalks of snow. But, I need to keep moving. A body in motion, stays in motion. Come Spring, it is a nice transition into my other hobbies.

Off season? There are days I can hunt and days I can't. The time of year never has been a factor.
