What Era Button is This?

I found this button in Az. at a site that has turned up the classic Eagle "C" buttons. Post Civil War I'm guessing 1880s. "Indian Wars" era. I find Spencer cases as well as the early transitional primed cases here. round balls and three ringers. Anyway, I can't seem to find much about this button and the one site I found said that it was a Army Calvary trouser button from the Civil War Era. Keith Southern said WW1 trouser button but I couldn't find any where to confirm that. Can anybody confirm the ID of this button? Getting frustrated. Thanks!
