About 5 days ago i took my Sov.GT to a local beach since the temp,s are in the mid 40,s i hit the dunes on top of the beach to keep out of the wind i found the normal beach stuff a few junk earings lots of lead sinkers a few modern coins then i got a what i thought was a silver sound kind of like a groan on the GT i dug up a huge ring really wide it,s hard to see the mark inside even with my loop it,s almost 1 inch wide weighs 13.7 grams , thinking about it today i took the ring to a friend who has a 4 inch mag. glass now i see it .625 not .925 , isnt .625 15k gold ? plus it says made in Italy, i put my minelab digital meter back on the machine and it read,s 32 . i took a few photo,s anyone know please let me know all these year,s this would be my first gold ring . Thanks Jim

I was on a local beach over looking the Sound in some small dunes maybe 15 feet above sea level it,s all new sand put there last year by the town after a big Spring storm washed out the area .

according to a internet reference...15k, 15ct or .625 ( parts per 1000 ) or 62.5 % gold,,it says that its a discontinued c 1935. A good indicator that the piece is old !!....good find.!!.....HH..Tim

I'm surprised it read 32 on the meter for you. That's well below most foil that comes in at the 90's or so. We scanned in over 100 gold rings found by an Excalibur water hunting digging every signal that sounded off, so the results aren't biased in any way. I believe the lowest those rings read was around 76 or so. I wonder why yours read even lower.

Hi Critter a silver ring will get between a 76 and 80 on my meter but this ring rang in at a 30 32 same as a pull tab , i even ran my DFX over it and have the same reading 32 like i said it,s .625 not pure gold ? Tim above said 15k, 15ct or .625 ( parts per 1000 ) or 62.5 % gold,,it says that its a discontinued c 1935. so who knows what is in it if it,s that old, something i did not know . Jim

Oh, you are talking about on a DFX. I thought you were talking on a Sovereign. No wonder the number was so low.
