Besides finding your way around in Texas. It was made of bronze and is 1 1/2 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide.On the back it is marked "St. Louis button Co.". (I never heard of them either)It was found in a pre 1920 site.Anyone have a clue?

The St. Louis Button Co, goes back into the 1800's, and there are plenty of examples of pins, badges and medals produced by them. I've seen a couple styles of buttons made by them for the Texas State Fair, but none that match yours.
As well, there is no trouble finding dozens of lapel and hat pins in the shape of the Great State of Texas...
Best guess <img src="/metal/html/shrug.gif" border=0 width=37 height=15 alt=":shrug">
Amazing when you think about it, that they could fit all of Texas on something that small. Thanks for posting! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
