What Is It You Have Found?

What is that sound that broach my ear
The ring of coin so crystal clear
Is it silver or pray be gold
Of a time long past of days of old
It is more than that if truth be said
Payment for sustenance for a family

Nice poem, Bell-Two, did you compose it?? Many treasure hunters do search the history of what they find, especially relics! Glad to have you posting with us.....always nice to have another Christian Brother as a member of our CMD Forum! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Yes that is my composition, I do write poetry, teach Bible Study, educational Pastor at my church and every now and then do a little metal detecting!

Here is another about metal detecting

Why We Search

Why do we swing the coil
As we walk along the grass
Back and fro as a pendulum
As we make our careful pass

Is it to find untold riches
To make our searching pay
Or simply to uncover things
Brought back to light of day

Our treasures are not of a kind
The world would seek to grasp
We seek only to enrich this day
By preserving things long past

Sweet Surrender

What a pleasure to remember
That first moment of sweet surrender
When I put aside my own false pride
Now admitting what I tried to hide
That I can not do it on my own
I never could, I should have known
The only way to answer heavens call

Beautiful poems and short! Ma's are mostly long and I'm sure many don't read them, but I do have one on Treasure Hunting written many years ago, when I did compose and write shorter poetry! You sure have a busy life serving Lord Jesus Christ! Amen! Ma Betty

Thank you for showing that poem here is one that I wrote after someone actually quizzed me about what type of stuff I had! After they had spent half the evening tell us what he had and all the things they did.

Matthew 6
19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
21 for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

What Do You Have?

You tell me of your houses
And of your fancy cars
You show me diamond rings
That glitter like the stars

You talk of your many trips
Flying across the wide blue seas
And all about your new sailboat
That runs along the breeze

And what things do you own?
Is how you question me
Do you have anything at all
That I would care to see?

I do not have lots of houses
Just a humble home that

Another good one....Thanks Bell-Two! May you be blessed many times over! Amen! Ma Betty

Your Poems I always read.
For I have always enjoyed those things
Through which my mind or heart I can feed.

Thanks Ma. May God Bless. PEACE:RONB

Thanks, Barker, you are a poet, too! Yes, it is good to feed upon God's Word whether Scripture or poetry verse! The love of Jesus is in our hearts! Amen! Ma Betty

Looking out over this vast and beuatiful land.
On a hot summers night.
or in the Autumn so cool.
I think about who created it.
The answer to which I'm no fool.!!!!!!

PEACE:RONB

Very good, Barker! Guess we need to start a poetry section with all the poets we have! I will post another one sometime! I always have some to post but don't always upload them to the forum! Been really ill lately and down in my left hip and lower back! I have to grit my teeth and slowly move my left foot to even walk a little or to go down stairs....painful indeed, but I'm still living and able to wince and get out of bed and I'm still breathing...though not like I should....so everything is okay! May God Bless and repair your back to complete wellness to be whole in Him! Amen! Ma Betty
