What is the best water machine out there? I need one that has volume control and automatic balancing
mine lab 1000 needs in my oppinion a new design any sugggestions?

redbird, I think the minelab excal is your best choice for a beach and water machinne. I used a whites dfx for years and the gold jewlery just did not show up. Its a great coin machine, but just didn't get that much depth. Also I was always worried about getting it wet in the surf. So this past Christmas I treated myself to the excal. What a difference. I'm now digging targets up to two times deeper than with the dfx and have found more gold in three months than I did with the dfx in three years. The only thing I have done to the excal was to add a straight shaft. Don't know why minelab doesnt supply them with the new machines. Guess the s shaft might be better for diving. Good luck with whatever you get.

Go with MineLab Excalibur. It's the king of water detectors.

MineLab should offer the Excal in 2 packages. A Dive package and a LandLubber package. That we be a great idea.

Hu? I'm on the west coast here in southern California beaches, with high threads of Black sand and digging coins / jewelry at 8 inches with my DFX . Was thinking of a excalibur II (the one that was just released) so im going to get 16 inchs on the wet sand with black sand present with the Excalibur II ?
