What is the best way to get the cam shaft lock off of the old rod and on the new straight shaft? Thanks.

You can use a really sharp knife and place it on the seam of the cam lock, and tap the knife with a small hammer. You must do this all around the cam lock. With luck, the glue will break apart, and the cam lock can be re-used.

IF it breaks in one or 2 places, it can still be used, but will need to put back together the same way they broke. Like a key.

Also, a little prying will help as well.

If you do this, take your time, and don't be drinking adult beverages while doing this.

Good luck.
