what is the normal length on headphone cords?

ok I tried my headphones for the 1st time friday and I simply cannot stand it, the cord is way too short. When I am swinging the coil it is great and I love the fact no one can hear my extremely LOUD ace250...lol

but when I find a target and kneel to dig the cord is just too short, you need more room to move around. So what is the normal length on hedphone cords? Mine is only 24 inches of the coiled up stuff, it stretches sure, but it retracts right back up.

I dunno????? Hey I used some headphones this weekend, man is it loud with the Ace 250, Im going to buy a pair, but with volume control on them.

That sounds about normal. Just remember when the temps warm up you will get better stretch.

ok I got it figured out, I took my cord and stretched it out over and over and over and over.....lol

now it is no longer 24 inches it is a good 4 foot long now. I think I stretched it enough times that it did not recoil back to a short 24 inch length. I tried it out in my yard and it is perfect now! :clapping:

cord of the earphones stretch out too far and get in my way, so I make a loop and pin them to my shirt or jacket! Helps a lot! Yours may get stretched farther!!

Thanks for the advice on the headphone cord length. I was having the same problem with mine you discribed earlier on in this post. Good idea. I will try it out myself.
It was really irritating. Everytime I kneel down, the cord yanks them off my head or pulls one ear cup sideways over my face. Bummer!

ear cup at a time. The other cup stays above my other ear, Like to keep one ear open to what is going on around me. Around some of these old homesteads up these hollows you do find a rattle snake occasionally. Went out Sunday and detected a old homesite that the house burned down over 50 years ago. Didn't find nothin but square nails. Makes me think something is wrong with the detector. Should have at least found an old door knob or something. The chimmy was still standing, it was made of sandstone and mud. Real old. Think I'll go back with one of my other detectors and try it again. I was using the GTI 2500.
God Bless
