WHAT is the the "FG" in a ring mean ????

Hi everyone. I have another question. Im pretty sure that "GF" means gold fill. Though Im still cloudy on how that effects the quality and price of a piece of jewelry.

What I dont have a clue about is the meaning of "FG". The "F" is in a regular font and the "G" is in a different font kind of angled looking. Both rings that have the "FG" are 14K one is yellow and the other is white gold.

Does anyone know the meaning of these.

Thank you

It's the trademark of Frederick Goldman, Inc.

I always thought it meant "fine gold". I'd never seen it in two different fonts, though.
