I saw a similar question in the "Metal Detector" thread.

What is your oldest dated relic??? (license, dog tags, relic with a patent date or a model year). And do you have a picure that you can post???

I have many older, but the oldest with a date I believe is an 1820 Northwest Fur Co. trade token. No pic of that one though.

This 1918 dog tag that I dug up in my yard along with a 1940 "wheatie"; but maybe it was that 1861 bottle that I found at the shoreline

p.s. I think it is a dog tag..not sure...

wonder if the people buried their dog in the front yard so long ago. :shrug:
