My C2500L uses SmartMedia and CompactFlash cards simultaneously and I bought my stuff on UBID. Speaking of that I think the site got too popular since I haven't seen anything even slightly cheap there in weeks as far as the camera stuff. Everything always ends up costing what it does everywhere else. Almost every time at least... What about the rest of you? Any good sites? Deals... etc... Guvner..

..... eBay, just control your bidding with respect to bid + shipping vs retail and you can really do well, there will be times that you may have to wait for the next auction to come around but Ive NEVER paid more than 70% of retail on anything Ive bought. and have averaged around 60% overall, some as cheap as 35% of retail. Alot of mine are items that are not available at retail outlets (collectables and out of production)

Have you used both CF and SM with your camera? If so, I have seen several posts on another site that elude to CF being MUCH slower in storing images than SM. Please comment and thanks.

But nothing that offended me. I seem to lean toward using the CF card since it is much more durable looking at least from the standpoint it is a solid chunk I can grab onto. I can't remember the speed affecting my decisions on which one to use. I will try to put a clock on it sometime this week and give you some times...
Good shooting... Guvner..

...on a 2.5 megapixel. It was so close that using a clock with a second hand didn't provide enough accuracy. Seemed to be 8 seconds for a 2.5 megapixel SmartMedia save and 8.5 seconds for a 2.5 megapixel CompactFlash save.
Good shooting... Guvner..

IBM 1 GIG Micro-drive, Cf Flash Cards (Lexar and Sandisk), Smart card (64 meg and 16 meg)

I told a friend of mine to check your site out. He owns and is McCarty Studios here in St. Louis area. I told him (Dennis) you probably wouldn't mind telling him what you know about digital beings he's out of the competitive geographical area.. <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)"> Don't know if he ever contacted you but I forgot I did it until I saw your post...
Good shooting... Guvner..
