What not to post or what should I post.

I for one believe that this forum is not to see who can out do the other as far what kind of coins are posted. It's really nice to see the older coins and the rare and unusual ones as well that are posted and I think it only drives us even more to keep this wonderful hobby alive and well and maybe we too can be as lucky as those who have found such wonderful finds that passed beneath their coils. I enjoy looking at all the pictures that you all post and I hope that none of you feel that your finds are not good enough to post. It's not the quality or quaint that counts as every man's finds are his own treasure no matter how big or how small and something he or she should be proud to share with all of us. Keep up the great posts all of you and HH.

is to share the excitement :jump: of the find with others.

By showing our finds we are pumping each other up. :yo: Telling each other "If I can do it, you can too". Seeing great finds on these forums helps me get thru the tough days where I dig pounds of junk and half-eaten memorial pennies. :rage: By the same token, I hope some of my finds keeps others plugging along :detecting:(pun intended).

It is definitely not about "Mine is bigger and better than yours".:punch:

So post what you want and don't worry about how many wahoos you get in return. Face it, not many of us live with others who could give a sh** about what we dig up:sad:. So we get on the internet to find others who share our passion.:super:

That's exactly what I mean diggingfix. I remember my first merc dime also and it was priceless to me as well. I will be 62 this July and when I was a kid the silver coins were plentiful. Very seldom do you ever get a silver coin in change and today with a little luck, research and a metal detector in hand the silver is out there just waiting to see the light of day again.........:) Happy hunting to all of us.

I May not post all the time .... and when I do I try to include a photo and a bit of history about the area I was in. There's plenty of other places to post and flex you muscles about what you found but not in here....Some of my more memorable finds where years ago with the older style detectors when you really had to work hard at detecting to get any satisfaction from the hobby. Todays detectors make it a bit more pleasurable to get out and find some stuff whether its relic or coin hunting. Last year I cashed in over a hundred bucks in clads and pulled over 50 silvers outta the ground. Some I posted some I didn't.
:(Usually I need a kick in the pants when the weather gets cold and snow sets in , But that's when I thrive on others to post some of their finds just to get me through the winter months.
Today I purchased a Garrett ace 300 (just for competition hunts) and went out and nailed a 1946 Rosie 7 memorials and some clads. I could have posted them, but my camera will be in Florida for 10 days while my in-laws borrow it. keep on posting what ever you guys and gals find ......we'll all enjoy them and maybe even get a chuckle or two from time to time about how you found'em....

Hi Guys,

I endorse and agree with everything you have said in these posts, most of the coins I dig are modern clads, but because we have one and two dollar coins the cash adds up quickly, the EX II is about three quarters paid for with clads over the last twelve months.
Just sometimes I fluke a silver or gold ring and a little bit of old silver pre decimal coins which all goes to make the hobby more interesting. I also enjoy looking at the Pics of items that you guys in other parts of the world pick up. It a great hobby and needs protecting from the people that don't do the right thing in the more sensitive digging areas.

All the best.......Boony...Tasmania....Australia

I also enjoy looking at everyone elses finds! Big small or what ever! I like old coins and the history that goes along with them! For me it's motivation when I look at others finds period! No matter how big or small!

Once again keep them finds comin in :)

Last week I did write that I was almost ashamed to post about finding my '63 Rosie, but I was only kidding. It just happened that below my post were some incredible finds of a CS buckle, Barbers, IH's... I know I love to see pics of what people are digging up no matter what they are. I know that everyone gets a thrill out of all their digs, no matter how "meager" :) Personally, I like when people show all the junk they had to dig just to get that one keeper. Keeps things in perspective

It seems to me that this forum is happier than the others( non mine lab) It was nice waiting for the frost to leave and seeing how the posts picked up. Anybody ever knowingly detect at a haunted sight?
Once I thought it was a park next to a river. I figured I would read the monument on the way out as I swept through. In the back I was hitting alot of iron signals(non mine lab days- dark ages) I left them and read the monument. It was an old Mormon settlement. I guess the plague caused them to move. I packed up and left because I didnt want anything from that sight..Then I found out later a grave yard
up the road aways has a section of a cemetary than no graves can ever be moved do to they died of the plague. They dont want to take the chance of ever releasing it again. Keep digging!!!
