What to buy?? Etrac or Equinox 800??

Go for a nice used E-Trac and a new EQ 800.
Both for about the same money as one new etrac.

I had an e-trac, real coin hog, but unfortunately doesn't handle iron well at all.....now running an MXT PRO and an EQ800

One of the considerations is what will you use it for?

The Equinox is waterproof and that makes it ideal for water hunting.
If you dont get into the water deeper than a foot or so then the Etrac will work fine.
There is always an option of buying both units from the used market at a big savings.
Not much sense in buying a Equinox 800 ... unless you gold prospect the 600 is a better choice.

Consider ... both detectors will pay for themselves over time ... IF you get out and use them!

If you hunt mainly deep coins and have a good strong arm go E-Trac.

If you hunt any gold at beaches or tot lots and want a super light detector go Equinox 800.

I also like my 800 a bit better for relic hunting as well.
