What to keep Excal I 1000 or 800

Hi all
I have the chance of choosing to keep one of the minelabs, but I would like to have opinions from the masters here on this forum
I have been Huntign with the 800 for two years, and I like it.
The beaches I hunt have some trash, but not overwhelming, I have been hunting this year with the PP mode all the time, and no problem, got to dig some really deep targets.

I really appreciate all the help, thanks a bunch!

Nutriasub,I'm not a master with the Excalibur, since you like the 800 after using it for two years that may be the best choice. The 800 will be lighter and have less drag in the water.Good Luck Ron

If its working dont change it. Because sure enough you do you will get one not quit tuned to your liking. Age has a lot to do with it to as does water conditions. Swifter water id prefer to have the 8", its lighter, picks up a little smaller targets and you can move it fairly quickly out there in the shallow water. Pushing that 10" coil around in a fast longshore drift can be work. You can also run the 8" just a little hotter in disc. I prefer the 10" just because i like to cover a lot of beach fast. I have a buddy who hunts with the 8" hes had fewer repair issue than me and swears by it. Sometimes when you get those cuts and EVERYTHING drops in that hole an 8" coil can be a winner.

Judging by what I have been reading lately having two Excals is almost mandatory. They are a fragile unit.

Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate your help.

Its too expensive for me to own two units, I have to take good care of the one I keep.

I will think about it!
