What tone setting do you use

I almost always use 4 tones. I've tried the 99 and it's just too hard to figure them all out. Hope this helps.
Joel

Four tones here. I feel it makes me listen more closely.

I use 4 tones as my default but switch to 99 when I feel like I have a good target in among junk, it seems like its more sensitive to small changes when that is the case.

Same here...2 tones for relic hunting. HH TomB

4 Tone. I've tried multi tone and I have a hard time distinguishing between the differences. Maybe I need to experiment more.

4 tones is a great choice and I have been running multi lately.

I usually have it set at 3 since I coin hunt, but there are time I open them all up just for a change.

Happy Hunting

They're all good. It's about having fun, and getting out there and swinging !

I always hunt in multiple tone mode. One tone for each notch segment allows me to "hunt by ear" without having to watch the meter. If you are using anything less than multiple tone mode, all ferrous targets will provide the same audio response. Doing this will not allow you to hear the harmonics produced by deeply buried iron. I've recently submitted a new Minelab Treasure Talk article that will explain how I use harmonic tones to decipher the sounds of deeply buried iron. I will make a post here when Minelab puts it up on Treasure Talk. HH Randy
