whats the learning curve if i switch to the sniper coil for my ace 250?

Because of its size hardly any pinpointing needed .Instant target idetification. Like Khouse said 15 seconds.

The only thing you'll have to learn is just how tiny a sweep it takes to overlap the coil-even if it's only 75%. I have missed a lot of coins in the past when I switched to the smaller coil. Fortunately my best friend was video-taping me, and when I looked at the tape I was actually leaving a full coil's width in between sweeps. I could hardly believe it -I'm usually careful to make sure I overlap the coil.

Maybe even faster.

Absolutely zero. It's a snap to hunt with and even better to pinpoint with. And that little puppy will get you close to seven inches in depth.

Some time ago I described a method for overcoming this with any coil. Stand still and scan every inch of ground in front of you out as far as you can reach then stop your coil there, walk up to it and start over. You won't miss much ground with this method - but remember, at depth your signal is only covering an area the size of a quarter not the size of your coil.

Fast. Pinpoint is dead on. Just slow moving but in trash areas it is a valuable tool.

I only use the sniper coil period. makes the detector a lot lighter for an old man. it goes deeper than i want to dig and the pinpoint is very precise. right on the x marked on the coil.Takes 5 seconds or one find to get good with it lol

I just got the 4 1/2" for my 550 and feel that I am finding more, faster, and not digging huge worthless holes. The depth is right on, so I just pop 'em out with the lesche. The ground presses right back into place.
