What's your favorite coil

I began with the stock and bought the 6" DD HF which I like a lot especially in confined trashy areas. Recently, I purchased the 10.5 DD MF since I hunt almost exclusively in large old parks. My only problem is that if I use the 10.5 too many days in a row, I get a sore shoulder so I often switch between the 6" and 10.5.

90% of the time I use the 10.5" DD HF. It seems to do best in our soil. I also feel that it gives me more stable target ID's than the MF coils especially when hunting in 99 tone mode. Believe me, I use them all but the 10.5" HF in my experience just out performs them all. As I had mentioned in other posts, I use it first and the follow up with the MF. If it's a really trashy area then I use the 6" coils in the same order.

At least for me that went away. My shoulder would get so bad that near the end of the day I was detecting left handed. This is year two with the larger coils and I haven't noticed a problem this year.

I like to use the 6' one. I can go for many hours with that one and it can go really deep. I rarely use the stock coil now. I know it takes longer on big fields but it is easier for me to pin point. ^_^

i have trouble taking the 5x10" hf dd off my 70 :)

10.5 DD MF on my 705 and 5X10 DD HF on my 70. From time to time the 9" CC LF coil and the 6" DD HF coil. Heck Minelab doesn't make a bad coil.:beers: HH TomB

Believe or not, if I only had one coil to choice from it would be the under-rated 9' MF stock coil.

For my area it gives me all around versatility.

It's waterproof and I do a lot of fresh water hunting.

It hits well for me on small gold and coins.

I have the 6"HF the 9" LF and the 10.5 MF and they are all great and serve their purpose.

But if ML only made one I would want the stock coil.

Good Hunting

I like the 9 inch 18.75 for deep civil war bullets and the 6 inch dd and stock coil for yards . I also like the 10.5 for relics. Do not really have a favorite but I believe the 9 inch 18.75 is going to be my favorite for deep bullets. I dug my deepest 69 caliper 3 ringer the other day at right at 12 inches I had a video on my phone on sd card and I accidentally erased it. I did show it to my hunting buddy and he was impressed at the depth. Barely gave a tone .

6" DD then 5x10DD

The same as mapper65, the 10.5" HF DD is glued on the machine now for beach hunting and prospecting.
