What's your opinion on this aftermarket brand DD coil for the XLT?

Its a 14 inch DD coil for the XLT (and Whites Classic, 3900 pro Plus, 5900 di pro SL, 6000 pro XL, ID, IDX models). Note: there is a 10 inch DD coil also.

I know pretty much next to nothing about the DD kind of coils and am quite frankly skeptical of any & all claims by most aftermarket brand coils that promise deeper finds for the XLT (than the standard stock coil). I was EXTREMELY dissapointed in the hotshot coil's performance.

What do you think?

Jim, I'm more interested in the 10 inch DD coil he carries. I sent an e-mail out to him about price and shipping info but I haven't heard back from him yet. I have really bad ground and I'm a big fan of DD coils.

hopefully he'll get back and please let us know your thoughts on the coil if you get it. I'm interested. HH Bill

I run two excelerator coils with my MXT and they work great. I've followed many posts on the UK sites and they use DD coils alot because of their mineralized soil. In good mild soil I think the DD's are not any deeper. Their advantage is in mineralized soil and they have better target separation because of their narrower field shape. The keel shaped field gets in between the trash. Many people will disagree but I think the stock 9.5 is deeper than the 10 x 6 DD in good trash free soil. That said i"m getting a 10 x6 to use at the beach. Rob
