Wheaties, Indian and relics OH MY! ....

I got a hot tip about a small bit of sidewalk that had been removed in a little town. I got there about 1pm today and there was only about 200 ft that was not already re-done. I got 5 wheats, one indian, a 39 nickel, a gold (maybe plated) pin, an old 4 hole button and 10 clad coins.

That didn't take too long so I went to a park that I passed on my way there. I had noticed that a small part of the park was fenced in right close to an old victorian home. So I started hunting fairly close to the house and found a neat victorian medal and an old buckle.

I had been there only about twenty minutes when the owner of the house pulled in. So I struck up a conversation across the fence. Next thing we know we remember each other from about ten years ago playing church softball. He is a pastor in the town that I was in. After yacking a bit, I asked him if I could search his late 1800's yard! He said sure! :) YEEE HAAA!!!!! A few minutes later I was detecting his lawn. I only had about an hour before I had to leave.
The take here was 5 more wheats, an old token, a skeleton key, another old 4 hole button, an old snap, a bridal rosette, and 3 clad coins including a bicentenial half dollar.

Then I hit the road because I was supposed to meet a club member at 4:30 to search for a lost ring. It was lost 30 years ago, and we did not find it. I dug a ton of trash trying to find it, but the keepers were a 57D nickel, and another wheatie. I only had an hour because I had to get home and ready for church. I am the games guy for the kids club.

My coin totals today were 11 wheats 58D, 55D, 49D, 47, 42, 37, 30, 29, 27, 16D, 16. 2 old nickels 57D, and 39. one 1880 Indian head. I think I did pretty good because my old coin take was one more than my clad! 14 to 13. and I will keep the 1976 half. But I like the relics best. Here is what I think my best 2 finds are.

This victorian medal is awesome! And old lanten/light on one side and a beautiful victorian woman on the other side. Look below for my other best find of the day.

Here is the old token I found. It is a little bigger than a quarter, and thicker. It says (Weyhing Bros. Three) on the front
and the back tells of how they are makers of fine jewelry, medals, etc.....and Detroit Mich. I have been doing a search to find some history on them but have come up blank. There is plenty of info on them in fact I believe they are still in business today, Just not how long they have been around. I think it is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. If you are able to find more info that would be awesome! :) Thanks for looking!
