hello , I have Pro coil with some number and date 2004?? on the coil cover? its possible that Pro coil was made In 2004? yesterday tested my PRO coil against my old 1050 on sensitivity 10 manual ant PRO was the same deep? did test on small piece copper sticked to 10cm polyester foam from home insulation, dropped sensitivity till detector was not getting respond with 1050 and PRO from small Cooper so I am absolutely sure that both coils depth is the same on 10 manual sens.. now I am a bit confused  why is my both coils the same deep on 10 manual sens.? it will make different on max sensitivity? have to go outside the city to check it, but what is your suggestion? if the same on 10 I think it will be the same on 30 sensitivity, or I am wrong? thanks Stasys

Cant really answer any of your questions. But last year i did some sand testing on a beach here in Fla. All the experts say....if it air tests a certain depth that thats not going to get better once you put the coil to soil. However, i was interested in the difference in auto and manual sensitivity. I air tested them both at 26 and auto was clearly less depth. The manual attempted to id a target an inch or so farther from the coil. In auto it had BETTER TDI... but seemed to have a clear cut off where it stopped trying. But on the beach..... they seemed to both be able to id most targets. Which told me the auto either gained depth or the manual lost it. What you may find once you get out side is that your 1050 may lose more depth than the PRO when in actual field conditions. Thats one of the reason air tests dont tell the full story. We all know some coils do better than others in actual field conditions. I also found that after say 29 sensitivity there was no gain in depth, or at least not when using my settings. Let us know what you find out.

Thanks Dew. I just confused what to say :surrender: I was so sure about Pro coil when year ago I did test by waving coin, possibly I did nice mirage trick to my self to believe that Pro is deeper. today repeated test with polyester piece and its the same in 20 manual.. .tomorrow I will do trip to the EMI clean wood and check -double check, but its look not promising. I know air test is different thing compare with ground, but if coil gets target deeper in air its will get deeper in ground in most situation. Thanks Stasys
