Where are all the old guys that used to post on this Forum like

Tinfoil

New member
Charles Up state NY, Jim Up State NY, Matt R, Cody, Captain Kirk, Erik, and last but not least, CC with old Floppy, and some of the Brits that used to post here. Hey CC you still out there and why don't you guys post anymore????. I always liked reading the stuff you guys posted. It made you a little :bouncy: but I liked reading the tech stuff even if it was hard for me to get in this hard head. Now all these guys really know how to hunt with the Explorers. Just wondering. Later Jerry aka Tinfoil.

Hi Tinfoil!

Thanks for thinkin' about me. Have been a little busy with some home projects (courtesy of my wife!) and then we just found out that our 9 year old Golden Retriever was just diagnosed with cancer so I've been quite distracted with that and trying do the best for him -- he's a great dog! But I'm still here watching some of the posts and nice finds. I'm hoping to get out sometime in the next few weeks as a bit of an escape (I need it!). But thanks for mentioning my name and I hope you're well.

Best Regards, Erik

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here are a few before and after shots. My house goes on the market in about 7 days then I'm going to unleash about 12 months worth of pent up detecting fury with my Explorer!

Here's what I have done so far on the remodel, installed 22 new windows, gutted the kitchen and both bathrooms, stripped about 2 miles of 50 year old wallpaper, painted every room and closet in the house, external doors, window trim, replaced all the light switches, outlets, ceiling lights, door knobs, installed a new front door, replaced closet rods, doorbell, ripped up all the carpet. I just finished 20 hours work peeling vinyl floor off the oak entry way and this week I'll be refinishing the oak floors. I'm hanging up my remodel tool belt after this one, never again!

Have you heard from CC and old floppy. I really miss all the old guys posts. I never post much but sure like to read all of you guys stuff. I am just a hunter and not much at the posting I am afraid. Well that is two of you so I wonder where the rest are.????? Later and the house looks great . Jerry aka Tinfoil

Don't you just love looking at before and after pictures of Remodeling Jobs. I work Construction and we occasionally do Remodeling or Additions to existing Home's so I know what kind of hard work it takes to take on a project like that. That house is going to be a beauty when you finally get her done. Very Nice workmanship Charles! But all the hard work on the house is going to be well worth the money and time spent on it and then you can get out and find some nice old coins and relics to relax . Good Luck with the house and HH when you finally get out and start swinging again.

I have not heard from CC in at least a year. The old gang just seemed to dispurse into the tall grass. Ed is still around, Dave Z rest his soul passed away. Jim hangs out on another site now. Ric and Mike popped up here a few months back breifly.

Thanks James, its been one long chore remodeling this house. This is number two for me, both 1950's, virtually the same kitchen and baths. No way I'd buy another fixer upper from this era, its just one PITA after another. Walls too thick for modern prehung doors, rooms and walls out of square. Back then they just gooped on some extra plaster to hide the shoddy construction.

Hey Charles,

Good to see you posting. Looks like you do nice work with everything. Use you CNC to do any custom remodel work?

I've been working on our place for over a couple years. Nothing is square and some the old plumbers and HVAC people thought nothing of completely cutting through a floor joist- so the floor holds up the joist and not the other way around to run ducts and pipes. I've almost completely replumbed and rewired the house. Hopefully be able to start doing the things that make it look nice soon. Been staring at studs and lath and plaster for quite awhile.

Chris

My Collie just passed a few months ago after 15 years of the best loyal friendship I have ever had. That dog was part of my family and was honestly more loyal and faithful than most people I know. I now have a German Shephard AND a Sheltie....but it just isn't the same. Just cherish and appreciate the times you have had and will still have with him while he's still here.

I don't know these guys personaly, only read alot about them. From left to right---Mike Scott, Randy Zur, Tom Bodenhagen, Tom Castile, Jim Selberg, Mike Geiger and Golddigger.
