:Where do I get Dupont #4 Silicone for Tiger Shark?

MoSafari

New member
Just bought a Tesoro Tiger Shark... In reading the manual, it says that I should use Dupont #4 Silicone (going from memory here... think that is right).....

Where can I get Dupont #4 Silicone, or, is there a substitute that is as good, or, better?

Thank you,

MoSafari

Just about any old place that caters to hot tubs, pools, etc...even down at your hardware store they will have an O-ring silicone lube,...DONT use petroleum jelly (vaseline) whatever you do! It eats them up!...or you can google similar cross products...

Call Tesoro. They have little bitty tubes of the stuff that can be in an envelope and to your door pretty quickly.

Another source is any food quality silicon grease, sold in small quantity for scuba regulator o-rings. One little container can last years. There are multiple brands available, do a search. Couple years back I picked up a 1/4 ounce container of McNett Silicone Grease Lubricant. It comes in a little container that seals, has a little chain to fit a key ring if you like. I have it thrown in my bag of extra coil bolts, batteries, tools and stuff that lets me fix the easy stuff when I'm out detecting and not home.
Cheers,

It's used on seals in underwater camera housings.

So, it sounds like the product is nothing more than an O-Ring lube? many motorcycle shops has the stuff, it won't be Dupont brand, but it will be a Silicone O-Ring lube (grease)

Let me recommend "Magic Lube II silicone Lubricant" this is meant for "O" rings and all rubber plumbing bushings....good stuff
