I found the 1 pounder at the upper end near Spalding in June 2005. I did a swim in that pond to celebrate and then decided to call it a day and walk back to camp. Took about 20 steps and then thought I might as well turn my machine on and hunt on my way back. Turned it on, took another 20 steps and the next target I found was a 2 1/2 oz solid Gold Nugget. I think I floated back from there. I hollered "Eureka" again and everyone around me thought I was still Celebrating from the 1 pounder. They could not believe that I just dug to targets and both were Trophy Nuggets of a Lifetime.

I found the 2 pounder in Week #1 (2 weeks ago)much closer to camp and in a cobble pile next to a small pond. It gave an OVERLOAD reading at 1st and I had to raise my coil a bit to get a more accurate tone ID. There was nobody around me to celebrate with, so I patiently waited until Dinner that night when I pulled it out to show.

In times past, the most large nuggets come from the Cobble piles at the North End just passed the Tool Shed.

I am now taking Reservations for Ganes Creek, Alaska Adventure 2008 and Week #1 is half full already. Let me know if anyone is interested in joining us or would like more info about it.
