Where is everyone? Out diggin' I hope!!!!

Hi Bunker, I have been wondering the same thing! the posts are not coming in as fast as they were some time ago. If I could, I'd be detecting and digging just about everyday but family first and then detecting! but I think the really hot weather has played a part in a lot of us not going out during the daytime.
I've been retired for over 5yrs now (60 y/o) and I'm more busier now than I ever was which cuts down on the detecting time!!!!
I've made some beach trips recently but the beaches fill up so quickly with sunbathers so I really need to hit them very early in the morning or late evening to do any good. I find myself just hanging out on the beach myself!!!!
All I've got recently is piles of clad but that pays for entrance fees, meters, snacks and drinks so that's ok with me. Just like fishing, you won't catch anything unless your fishing pole is in the water with a baited hook, so it is with detecting, you've got to do your homework, check the tide tables and weather patterns, trying to be in the right (or most productive) places at the right time, observe and learn all you can and keep swinging to get the gold, silver and relics!!! H.H. everyone and try to stay cool!!.
The pic is of a beach I visited just 2 days ago. There is an empty space in the foreground only because the lifeguard cone's off the area around the lifeguard station to keep it clear.

Bunky, been thinking that since joining this terrific forum last year. Compared to Safari users,it seems to me that there are hardly any Quattro users reporting their finds or offering comments and this forum has far less participation than the other Minelab products. We know that you don't have report finds or post pics to enjoy it. Asking questions, sharing knowledge and information, offering comments for me is what it's all about to be successful. I think several folks besides yourself have upgraded to other Minelab products, so maybe those folks are trying to learn those units as best as they can (I know I would) and are participating more on those forums. I know if I upgraded, I bet the Safari would be on loan to a buddy. HH and looking forward to seeing more folks get involved (if their lifestyles allow).

Imagine now that the temperatures have dropped a little and the rains have showed up once again, many are out detecting like earlier in the year. Know I have been and the hunting has been excellent to say the least. Hope it has been the same for everyone else...

Looking forward to seeing some finds soon! Don't forget your numbers!

Been working 60 hours a week.Been to dry to cut plugs but went to 4 places that had 4Th of July celebrations and scraped clad also at few parks that were off limits to detectors they let me in when they saw my recovery tool,Golfers green repair tool only recovers to about 3 inches but let me get my foot in door found little over 80 dollars in clad.Friend of mine been borrowing my Safari he use to hunt about 20 years ago he has been doing real good in private yards around Ottawa the front yards are very small but he recovered 3 standing liberty quarters in one yard all were 4 inches deep.We just got some good rain I am hoping to get soon.will post if I find anything besides clad and Bic lighters.

Thanks for the reply Prep. Hope things slow down for you (if you want them to) and you can get out and dig. Always enjoy seeing what you bring to the table.
