WHERE'S ALL THE SE's AT????

been wondering the same thing.when one of my friends bought the f75 fisher,he made it sound as if everyone was dumping the explorers.where are they???probably where my trusty old sovxs is:in the closet for a backup.but its hard for me to believe folks will just up and sell the best detector ever made.i just wish minelab would have put the sov xs sounds on the se.that would've been sweet!!what say you???:minelab::csflag:::usaflag::happy:hh

I really doubt anyone is crazy enough to sell the SE....unless it is a financial thing....only people that would sell them are the people that never got the hang of them.

You said just a day ago you was going to keep it! It's your prerogative but you are making an error in judgment. The SE is definitely a better machine than the CZ.

I will agree to that, the sovs tones arent as widely spaced but they are more definitive of what the target is, such as the sound of a gold ring on a Sov versus my SE. Hold on to that Sov ellis. its still a good hunter.

Since I got the E-Trac I have mentioned I will be selling my SE Pro to those localy as the E-Trac works much better for me, but that is me as when you find more with a detector and it easier to understand it is a keeper. The Sovereign GT is one that is a keeper as it does great for me and I like the SE Pro too, but the E-Trac seems to do better for me and a smoother threshold and when you go over a good target I can tell it is good. I also have a F-75, a F-70 and a F5 and the F-75 will be a keeper too for some area I hunt while the others will be sold.
I think you will find most that have mastered the Sovereign will always keep one as a back up or even the first choice.

It finds way to much and too deep for me to take a chance on something else.

I've always sorta wanted to try a Sovereign-never have.--A lot of people swear by them.--I owned & used the older Excalibur on the beach several years ago--loved it for beach hunting-that was "one mean machine".

I think I am going to keep my SE.The Etrac is a great MD ....But the tone ID Sucks compared to the SE I can not tell copper memorials from clad dimes to silver dime I can tell a clad quarters. But you cant argue with success either I have had my ET for 17 days and found 5 silver coins .There are some nice features on the ET like sizing pinpoint the pinpoint icon are better also like digital and smart up at the same time but find myself looking at digital more than smart and smart is smaller on the etrac the ergonomics on the grip are great But as far as the all the other features combine /auto latch/E-trac Xchange / I dont use them I hunt in Quickmask so its pretty simple I think I am going to leave the Etrac home for a few hunts and take the SE back out HH RonC

The SEs and the SE Pros are out hunting !!

I looked at both, the E-Trac and the SE Pro last month before buying a new detector, money wasn't a deciding factor. I chose the SE Pro and got the SunRay probe with it. Face it, you go with something that's proven... Not saying the Etrac is unproven, Minelab wouldn't market a dunce and I'm sure it's a good machine, but it wasn't what I wanted. White introduced the Pulse. I tested it and this box eats batteries... Etrac users will swear by the new box, frankly, I believe that we can swear back....!!

There will always be those that go for the "newest" and there will be those that buy a machine, use it a few times and sell the detector for something else. I like the SE Pro and I'm very happy with my decision. I'm far from being a expert at it but it provides me a learning curve, something to master.
