General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Where's My $%#*$@ CTX, Minelab!?

Well, I'm coming up on 3 weeks since I shipped my 2 week old defective CTX 3030 back to Minelab for replacement. Another call to Brian at Customer Service last Friday morning seemed to have gotten them to find a replacement for me. It was promised to be shipped no later than Monday this week. (UPS guarantees 2 day delivery from Minelab to my address). If it went out even on Monday it should have arrived today. But here it is after 6:00 PM and no UPS delivery.

I'm losing faith in Minelab after this latest run around and am thinking about just asking for a refund when I call Brian tomorrow. :veryangry:
 
A few things: Did you track your package? Get the tracking number. Minelab may've said they shipped it on Monday, and it could've gone out on Tuesday. If it did get picked up on Monday night and it's a 2nd Day Air, then it will be delievered today UNLESS they shipped it GROUND. Also, drivers deliver past 6pm. Some are out till 8:30pm or later depending on dispatch. Relax. You'll get your MD.
 
I had asked for a tracking number to be emailed to me when they said it would ship in "a few days" a week and a half ago. Then when Brian said it would ship Friday or Monday at the latest I didn't press him to make sure I got a tracking number. Believe me, tomorrow I will press him to find out exactly what is going on.
 
I was going to get one myself, but when you have DEALERS (Yes, plural!!) warning you of problems with ML right now...well, I think I will hold off and see if they get their act together.
 
I've left a voice mail for Brian at Minelab to get back to me. I'll let everyone know what he says is going on when I finally get him on the phone.
 
This is why I won't sell my Etrac. At least i will have a decent backup waiting on Minelab while they take their sweet time.

OK, I just talked to Brian at Minelab. To explain a long story, I originally ordered a Standard Pack but my dealer shipped me a Starter Pack instead and then shipped the missing items for a Standard Pack separately. So, what I sent to Minelab was the Starter Pack box with just the Starter Pack items.

So, Brian said since they got a Starter Pack from me they didn't have any Starter Packs to ship - only Standard Packs so the shipping dept. didn't ship me a detector last week as promised. In his call to me today, he says he has upgraded my RMA order to a Standard Pack and it will ship today, Thursday. I just asked him if he would upgrade the shipment to overnight so I would have the CTX for this weekend. He was going to go see if he can change the order to overnight shipping and get back to me.

So, If I get my detector by tomorrow or even if it's Monday, I'll be happy. Still a little irritated but happy.

No problems with my CTX3030. I have heard nightmares about the turn around time at Minelab regarding warranty work, so to prevent downtime I am keeping the etrac in case anything happens and for my winter woods beater.

I've read the info on the Minelab Customer Service site and they indicate they try to keep the turnaround time on warranty repairs to 10 business days from the time they receive the detector. And, Brian seems to try his best to accomodate customers. I do see a communications problem between customer service and shipping, though. Maybe it is just unusual circumstances but shipping seems not to communicate back to support on order bottlenecks before fires break out.
 
Kudos to Brian at Minelab. Not only is he now upgrading the CTX Starter Pack I sent them to a Standard Pack but they are shipping the package to me by overnight mail so I will have it for the weekend. He just emailed the UPS tracking info to me.

So, I'm happy and feel Minelab has bent over backwards to take care of my CTX problem in the end. There were some snaffoos in the middle but I'll chalk that up to the supply problem they experienced and a communications problem between their shipping department and customer service. In the end they came through and I'm very happy with them.
