Where's the hidden power that the GOP won Tuesday, how about redistricting  ........

Beyond the GOP's demographic resurgence, the most devastating part of Tuesday's results for Democrats may be the impact they will have on redistricting. Not only did Republicans win the governorships in large states such as Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, but they also took complete control of the state legislatures in each of those Rust Belt behemoths.

That means that in states that currently have 60 House seats, the GOP will be able to lock in its gains after reapportionment. All told, Republicans picked up at least 16 state legislative chambers Tuesday.

The Republican Party picked up at least 10 governorships from Democrats on Tuesday and could win more than that by the time the final votes have been tallied in all 37 gubernatorial races. The GOP's strong showing could have profound implications for redistricting efforts and for the 2012 presidential campaign.

Every Republican governor running for re-election won on Tuesday, and two incumbent Democrats lost their races: Iowa Governor Chet Culver and Ohio Governor Ted Strickland.

Strickland's loss to former Republican Congressman John Kasich was particularly painful for the White House, as members of the administration - including President Obama - campaigned frequently on his behalf. Strickland was thought to have run a strong campaign but could not overcome the prevailing winds that swept Republicans into power across the Midwest and left Obama with a higher hurdle to climb in mounting his re-election bid in the critical swing state.

Republican gubernatorial candidates also won governorships currently held by Democrats in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kansas, Nevada, Oklahoma and New Mexico. Redistricting is the reason why Obama showed up in Ohio 12 times for the losers ;) but in the end the people said no thanks Obama, we have had enough of no hope and no change.

But I gotta say here, the best seat that the right won was the one that the chosen one left back in Illinois, you know, the one that the Governor and Dem's tried to sell to the highest bidder, classic and in the end the right wins, hows that for hope and change Mr. Obama

John Kasich and Scott Walker take their elections when Obama, Biden and even Michelle "my Belle" had been to both states over and over again trying to lend their support and clout ! The Democrats are a hard headed bunch though and haven't figured out that when Obama shows up that's usually the kiss of death to the democratic candidate !

Here in Florida, it was reported that Pres. Clinton came down and tried to convince Dem. Kendrick Meek to drop out of the race so Gov. (and former Republican) Charlie Crist would have a chance of beating Marco Rubio for Senate. You heard right.....Clinton was trying to convince Meek, the Democratic challenger, to drop out so former Republican Crist would have a chance. That's enough for me to vote against Crist any day of the week. Crist changed his party affiliation to Independent because polling numbers said that he was gonna have his hat handed to him in the primary by Rubio. Crists' death knell started when he was quoted as saying that the "stimulus pkg was a great thing for Florida" and even hugged Obama when he visited Florida after the stimulus pkg had already been passed by congress. To Meeks' credit, he wouldn't drop out of the race and ran a good, clean race until the end. I will gladly shake his hand for not being bullied by Pres. Clinton and Washington and for standing for his beliefs. I admire him for that.

Everyone needs to be on the lookout for Marco Rubio. He is extremely sharp and many on the "inside" see him as a Pres. or V.P candidate in the near future. The guy is good and ran for election backed by the "Tea Party" movement. If he can stick to his guns and meet a few of the right people, he will be a future star in the Conservative movement !
