Which after-market straight shaft for Minelab Excalibur?

If you intend to run the control housing mounted to the shaft, as I recommend, "The Lightening Rod". Also used by superhero pirates like coastwise, Gulf Huntress, David of Suffolk and VA Beach Mike. There are certainly others out there, but it works for us.

Pro Scoops makes a very nice straight shaft with guard for a reasonable price and excellent quality. You won't go wrong dealing with Bill Babbs, excellent craftsman who stands behind his work.

IMHO,

In a few minutes if you are so inclined...I Have two Excals, one is a very early unit and a newer 1000, both have shaft extensions that I made that can be used on Minelabs GP-T straight shafts or the S pole whichever you prefer, its important that you have a strap that closes over the armcuff. I used a spare lower coil rod cut two 8" pieces inserted one piece in the 1000 Dive rod drilled a thru hole for a bolt slid it into the end of the minelab shaft, lined it up, drilled the last armcuff hole thru the insert and it was done. I can use either Excal in either shaft when traveling I can take both Excals, use one shaft... The extension for the early Excal came from another Dive extension I had..... HH...Geo :)
