I need some experienced opinions..... Still being very new to the xterra's and minelab....I have a friend at work who has some property here in Kansas that the old chisum trail runs thru...this field he plowed for the first time he has owned the property last spring and he thinks it's the first time in quite a while it's been plowed,he has invited me to come over and metal detect any time I want...now my question is what would be the best coil to use , the 3kHz, the standard 7.5kHz or the hf 18.75kHz? Won't get a chance till spring as the ground is very frozen but I am bored and thought I would ask

It sounds like you have a large area to hunt, if that is the case it might be best to go with your largest coil first just to cover as much ground as possible... I always start with my 10.5" MF coil when starting to detect a large area.
