Which detector is best?

Come on fellas!! Who really cares if White's is better or not than the Minelab. I don't own a White's and I can't compare one from the other and I can't really say which is the better of the two. I have to agree on the part that probably certain detector's will work better in other areas and different soil conditions than others. Just like that seated dime bracelet I posted that a fellow club member found. Well, he found it using a White's with a Big Foot coil. That's not to say that a Minelab couldn't have found it, but then again we are talking about soil conditions, what kind of setup you are using and I think the direction that a person swings his coil may have a lot to do with it as well. I thought this was a Minelab forum? If the White's owners want to badmouth Minelab then go to the White's forum and brag about the White's all you want. We are Minelab users and believe that we have a darn good detector and I think the wonderful posts that have been posted have proven this just as the White's have found some nice things as well. There is nothing wrong with owning more than one different detector as each will probably work well in the right place at the right time. I myself have gone behind people using a White's and have found things they have missed. My only regret is that I wasn't in front of Jack who found that seated dime bracelet.................:) HH.

I take my meds every day. I was only giving my point of view and I was not trying to rattle a hornet's nest. We all have our own opinions on things and if I offended you in any way I am sorry. I was not trying to put down White's detectors and in fact I am thinking of buying one because I know from fellow members who own them and things I have seen posted by what they have found that they are a darn good detector. HH.

I was just kidding Eddie. I own 3 minelabs, 1 whites, 3 tesoros and one garrett. usually people do get crazy when somebody ask "which is better" brand A or brand B or C etc...
Every detector has it's merits. Especially MINELAB's. HH
Rusty.

I guess I'll put my two cents in also. I have a Whites 6000 pro that I use as a back up and after being behind Jack a few times am getting the Bigfoot Coil for it. My only use of it would be surface as it, from what we have seen on signals is that it doesn't go very deep. It sure gets the top stuff and you can cover 10 times the amount of area as the Minelabs. No way would I get rid of the Minelab and I have 2 of them, the XS and the II. All machines have a place and a purpose but as you say this is a Minelab Forum and not a Whites Forum. If you look at the other Forums you will see most of the good finds other than water and beach are from Minelab although the Excaliber is doing pretty good also. This is strictly my opinion from what I have seen and where I have hunted and what I have used.

Thank God Rusty!!! I certainly wasn't putting down White's detectors and I wasn't trying to create any negative thoughts about which detector is better than the other. Like you said, they all have their own merits. HH.

really sick and tired of these idiots coming in here and creating arguments. We use Minelab's, we love Minelab's, and that's just the way it is.

If you come in here with your White's DFX to tell us about how much better it is in your state or town or whatever - don't expect the red carpet treatment.

We don't care! You have a forum - go post on it!
and that's a wrap!

if it was a real amazing machine...they would be keeping it a secret...not going to Minelab forums to tell us how good it is *haha*

Us Explorer users know what we have ;)
