Which Golden uMax (new/old tones) most closely mimics Cortes?

Hello all -

I recently moved from a White's XLT to a Tesoro Cortes, and am LOVING it!
I'm thinking of adding a Golden uMax to the stable, and would like to know if one of the versions (old tones or new tones) would use closer to the same tones as the Cortes?

Since I'm still learning the tones of the Cortes, I'd like to minimize the curve on the Golden if possible :)

Thanks for all the GREAT info you all share on this board, it's a spectacular reference..

I have a Cortez and had a Golden. The Cortez has no tones except in the SUM mode, but if you hold the Sum switch then the old tone Golden would be closest. The new Golden tones are out of order as far as discrimination goes.

Thanks for the info! That's exactly what I wanted to know!
This is the EXACT reason I love these forums :)

I also had the Cortes and old tone Golden. They sound very similar.

Thx Jabbo :)
