Which is the newer model the SE or the LTD

JASONSPAZ1

Which version of the F75 is said to have better performance with EMI.

Thanks
Jason

other than the color, is the SE (black shaft) different from the one with the camouflage shaft(ltd). I thought it was posted somewhere that the only difference was the color. Any input? CO

Jasonspaz1: I like your quote "If you walk away from a target still thinking of it. Go back and dig it up!
This is exactly what happened to me earlier this year in the woods. I walked over this target but it sounded sort of good and sort of not so good and I was getting tired of hours of hunting the woods and just sorted of wanted to go home. I walked back to the spot and walked away again. I kept thinking about it and finally dug it. Good thing to. It was an 1868 Indian head penny. Cleaned up beautifully. Book says its worth 40 or 50 bucks in its current condition.
As far as the original question about the difference, if any, between the SE and LTD and which is newer, I have no idea. This sort of thing always occurs when a manufacturer decides to give a detector multiple labels. On this forum and all other forums as well and on YouTube videos it is referred to as both a Special Edition and as the Limited Edition. Mine says Special Edition and is about 1 year old. Maybe next year they will come out with a new model called the "Special" Limited Edition or a Limited "Special" Edition referred to as the F75 SLE or F75 LSE or whatever. Then you will have the F75 ltd, Se, Sle, and Lse.

Maybe this will help clear things up a bit. My manual says F75 Limited on its cover page and my detector says Special Edition on the arm rest. So I guess I would assume they are exactly the same. I know that when I first joined this forum I was looking specifically for articles related to the ltd but I got confused when I saw a lot of posts that just said Fisher 75 in the title. Then upon actually reading the posts usually it mentioned ltd or se so I knew that the post related to my machine. From all the reading I've come across, apparently the only difference between the F75 and the ltd version is the boost and cache modes. Other than that the machines are identicle.

OK i know Fisher don't make it easy , so hear we go.

When the F75 first came out it was a 75 th anniversary release called Special Edition.[ gold down rod]

Then the Limited Edition or LTD came out with boost mode [ camo head and down rod ]

Then the Special Edition or SE was given to the new machine [black down rod ] with boost mode .

The LTD and SE both with boost mode are the same except for color.

Maybe not. Fisher is not saying. Understandable. There is anecdotal evidence that the newest units are better at handling EMI.
Certainly there are no operational changes and so no need to update the manual. Have they tweaked it? Maybe. I know mine runs quieter than yours!

Yes, yours probably does run quieter than mine. Today I was out in the woods in an area full of trash from an old amusement park torn down many decades ago. Just for the heck of it, I turned the disc to max, put it in DP mode turned sensitivity down to 70. It still constantly squaked on all the iron in the qround. Seems the max disc had no effect whatsoever. Not sure what's going on at this point.

I started using bp mode and was ok but thought it a bit noisy. For grins I switched to de and thought I'd go nutz, it was like a shooting range for machine guns. I went back to bp tried switching freq and it quieted down nicely. Lately I've been playing with all metal motion and having a lot of fun with that. I love this machine. If the noise ever starts getting to me (seldom), I pull out the CZ and its glorious!

Se All Black detector is the latest..... Rumor has it that First Texas changed their processor supplier company, and the Se's, have this new supplier Processor.

Some have said the SE is less EMI prone. I think it may just be a lot of users have gotten used to the target separation and additional sound they hear.. And EMI was never the culprit in many instances.....You hear targets you have never heard before with the Fisher F75 detectors.
