I'm thinking of trying a pulse machine out ( maybe Tesoro ) any suggestions ? Also would like to know what type of depth they get in wet sand at the beach . Thanks

maybe $600 to $800

I could get you $400.00 off of a J.W fisher 6X or 8X Pulse detector. I won a $500.00 off certificate for either but don't want a pulse as I have an Excalibur.

I started 3 years a go with a Tesoro Sand Shark, about 6 months later bought an Excal. Six months after swinging that heavy, tempermental, overpriced thing (which I usually hunted with in all metal anyway) I went back to the Sand Shark. It's MUCH lighter, every bit as deep, better on chains and small gold, has multiple coil capability and a lifetime warrantee. And I get over 25 hours out of alkaline batteries even with the sensitivity and volume turned way up. I can't say enough good things about Tesoro. I use their Vaquero for relics/coins and am just as happy with that machine.

If you are going to buy a PI at least go with one with more depth that a Tereso... nothing against them but they aren't very deep... if you want depth and a decent price look into the Dual Field from Whites... shop around and you will be able to get one in the price range you are looking... the Detector Pro isn't bad either but the DF pinpoints alot better than the HHer PI... my hunting partner uses the Headhunter and he will agree with me :)

Unless you are planning on looking for larger items, or diving deep, the Pulse delay on the JW Fisher 6x and 8x is not designed for sensitivity to small gold items in wet sand or shallow water....
