White 3900 coinmaster

Hi all!!
I just stumbled across this site.I was hoping someone could help with a metal detector a freind gave me.It's a White coinmaster model 3900.
I open the battery compartment and it is just a white box with 2 metal prongs.I beleive it took another battery case to hold the batteries.Any idea as to what batteries were used in this model? And what voltage it operated at? Thanks in advance Steve

Gee I remember the 4900 but don't even remember the 3900...These vintage detectors usually had a white batterry holder that took 4 C batteries and also they made a nicad for it..I would give the Whites 800 number a call which will contact your nearest distributor and he should set you straight and supply you with this holder as most whites dealers still stock them...
1-800-547-6911.........as far as voltage what does 4 C cell batteries produce..I believe they start out just over 5 and need replacement at about 3.8....
