White Dual Field PI compared to Surf PI

I was wondering if the Dual Field PI goes alot deeper than the Surfmaster PI but people has been saying that it only goes a few inches deeper. I would love to hear what everyone is talking about and if it is worth my while getting this machine. I have 2 Surfmaster PI's but would like to get more depth should I inverst in the Dual Field PI. I never managed to get the DF results that were banded around many of the forums. Many others didn't either. I had people turn up who thought they must be doing something wrong, others who thought they had bought a lemon.

Its a deeper detector but then it should be with its larger coil. Then add that the pulse delay could be run down to 15 compared to the 25 of the Surfmaster so helping with sensitivity. Finally the DF has both pulse delay and gain controls instead of just one or the other (depending if you have the Pro version or not).

If you have "bad" beach conditions and the Surf Pro (without pulse delay) then the DF would seem much better. If you had the original Surfmaster with pulse delay then the advantage would not be as marked.

The Dual Field design of the coil allows more depth as it has a bigger coil than the earlier models combined with the smaller central coil to make up for the loss of sensitivity that larger coils tend to incure.
This could be the decider as to if you should "upgrade". The downside is that audio I.D. becomes a little harder than with a mono coil. If you just dig everything it won't make any difference.
