Hi,
Looking into critterhunters thread collection on modifying the Minelab GT, it turns out that the 180 meter for the Sovereigns is really nothing more than a digital 2 Volt voltmeter.
A guy would just have to find out what voltage the Classics pump from the coil to the control box, buy a meter to match and tap into the return wires from the coil.
Somebody does slick looking modifications on the Sovereigns mounting a round digital meter in place of the loudspeaker - since most of us use headphones, I see no reason not to be able to do that on a Classic.
