This one is for somebody who's handy. The detector will turn on, with the alkaline battery pack, but the screen just fills up and it won't turn off until the pack is pulled. When nicads were used, it sometimes turned on and worked normally but wouldn't turn back on after turning it off. I decided to part out the detector (coils are on the accessories forum). Could be a simple fix or maybe needs a new chip.. I dunno; all I will say is that it turns on. Anyway, $73 USD (PayPal only) shipped/insured in N.America gets it. ..Willy.
