White's new PI

Minelab should know better but that is not what my correspondence with them suggests. I had suggested to them that a few quality control issues and modifications to the Excalibur would breath more life into their sales. They informed me that their market research indicated that the market was in the $400 range and so they had focussed their R&D dollars on the X-Terra series. The underwater detecting niche was considered too specialized to be profitable according to their response to my query. They have a business to run and a profit to make so fair enough.
It sure would be nice to have and underwater/discriminating GP4500 though, even if I am part of a niche that is too specialized for consideration. Personally, I will take my modified Excalibur 1000 to the beach this weekend and find myself some gold loot. But I will continue to dream of an underwater unit that is superior to my Excal. Mr. Foster??:geek::goodnight:

Cheers,

BDA:cool:
