Whites Spectra V3 on the beach

I have a Minelab Excalibur II that I currently use for detecting on the beach, however I need to send it to Minelab for repairs on the threshold knob (min. turnaround time 20-30 working days!) I will be using My Spectra V3 on the beach (not in the water of course), does anyone have any experience with the V3 on the beach and what settings work the best?

Try the Salt/Beach program. It works for me.

I agreed - 3-frequency salt mode for the wet stuff and turn off on the salt in the dry .................. for me the V3 is the best machine I've ever used on wet sand - stability is outstanding with good depth using either the stock or (even better, the 6X10).

I used mine on the beach (Pensacola Beach in Florida) a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to do just fine in the stock coin and jewelry mode using the stock 10" coil.
It ran very quiet. Since then I purchased the eclipse 950 coil to try out on the beach because of some of the other posts here. I will let you know how that works.

Did about 2 Hours of hunting on the beach today using the 950 coil and the stock 10" coil both coils worked very well I was using the coin and jewelry mode with TX boost turned on.
I used the salt/beach program around the water edge. Both programs ran fine and very quiet.
I didn't bring home anything to talk about (.52 coins).

For me the salt beach program crank the sensitivity up and run the TX boost if you can.
I like the 950 coil best.

Used Salt program for first time today in Galveston with a 5.3 coil. Wow, very stable!! I ended up using it for the rest of the day and left the Excal in the truck since the current was so strong this morning.
