Whites Surfmaster

Just aquired my Whites Surfmaster PI. Any advice? I tried it in my front yard and it hits my deep planted targets, though not as well as my BlissTool! It sure is simple with ony two knobs.

Get a big scoop and prepare to dig LOTS of holes very deep................

and I wouldn't bother digging too many double beep type of targets, they are mostly bobby pins or wire or tent pegs.

Lastly..... get out there and have fun:detecting:

cheers nodds. HH

It will give you depth on the wet sand much better than single frequency VLFs

I got my DF PI a few weeks ago and have taken it out only 4 times now. So far I have 1 tungsten ring a junk toe ring and a junk kids ring and maybe 3 bucks worth of clad. In addition enough nails to build 10 homes and enough bobby pins to last anyone a lifetime! Each hunt I have spent no less than 5 hours STRIGHT detecting most of which in the water. This is a very deep machine and I have had to give up on a few targets simply because I could not dig deep enough or fast enough in the water. I am still learning of course so like you I too am looking for any advice in becoming more proficient.

Big Scoop is probably a good idea however......! My long handled beach scoop is about 6" around but when in the surf it feels like I have an elephant inside it! Gives me on heck of a work out.
GREAT info on to ignoring double beeps. I had heard that before! Thanks for reminding me cuz I forgot!
Thanks for the response.
