Whites TDI vs Garrett Infinium

Whites TDI or Garrett Infinium? Which do you think is the better detector? And from which dealer can I get the best price for a TDI if I decide to buy a TDI instead of the Infinium? Wayne

Hi,

I own both. If I'm getting in the water I use the Infinium. If I am out of the water, the TDI.

I like the extra adjustability the TDI offers. But the Infinium is auto ground balance and so easier for some people.

The only dealer you can get a TDI from is the ones you can walk into. No mail order.

Hello Steve,
Any ideas on keeping the TDI out of the water when beach hunting?

I do a lot of beach hunting...I do not go in the water but I do every once in a while get a wave or two that hits the area that I am digging in especially at low tide. Every once in a while a wave will come out of no where and hit me while I am digging. I don't want to get the TDI wet and was wondering if anyone you have heard of that has water-resisted the TDI.

Plastic bags?.......... Plastic enclosures?

Hi Steve,

I started on enclosing mine in a Pelican case but never finished it. Be easy to put it in a plastic bag that would keep it safe unless you fell in.

I'd like to take my TDI to Hawaii this time but I really need submersible units and with two of those in my baggage already I just do not have room for the TDI. But we will see. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and pay extra to take another bag along.
