Who has used the Omega then went to the T2 LTD?

Have had the Omega and really like it alot. It is a very good metal detector for the money. I have been looking at the T2 LTD and am thinking about getting one. Is there a big step up in performance going to the T2 from the Omega or even Gamma? It the T2 real chattery? I have used the regular T2 and it was a bit noisey and chattery to me. I know the Omega was a smoother running machine and not as chattery. All input is welcome. Thanks Tim

I did and then went back to the Omega. The T2 has the same depth in non-boost disc but the multi-tones are very flakey/chirpy. Not buttery smooth like Omega which is why I went back. Me love me some smooth multi-tones. In boost, it is a couple inches deeper. In all metal boost is insanely deep! but I coin shoot in trash so it just wasn't worth it to me. I didn't have much EMI issues. By power lines it's quieter than the 7.8khz greek series. I think it's just more sensitive to small flakes of stuff that the lower frequency omega ignores. Just didn't enjoy the tones. I you want multi-tone for sure I'd go with the F75 LTD so you can do multitone in boost. But it will still have chirpy/flakey tones. It's always been about fun and enjoyment for me and I've gone back to the Omega twice and now on my third one. I have the Euro Pro as well which at times is even more brainless fun. Personal taste really.

Yeah I have the euroteks too. It is an awesome machine.. I like to f75 but it is on the pricey side with that back light, notch and ,multi boost mode. I had a regular t2 but it was an earlier version and real chattery. I, like you, am partial to the Omega. I have had one before and am almost positive of going back to it. I am looking as well at the G2. I have not pinned either down yet and have never even held a G2 but I know it is good for relics and such but I coin shoot more than relic hunt. Thanks for your honest input and your post is leaning me toward the omega once again!! HH Tim

I think the G2 and Omega complement each other well. The G2 is not a very deep coin shooter but deeper on low conductors and next to nothing EMI.

I feel like the Newer T2 LTD is a different machine than the earlier models ( I have owned 3 new T2's in the past) 1 regular/green and 2 LTD's I have a early march 2013 model and have found it to be a very good machine very little EMI also hits hard on silver..... good luck on your choice HH joe

Maybe I got a hot G2. I've been detecting coins with it down into the 8 and 9 inch depth range with good ID using Killer B's Wasp headphones. I'd say that's deep. In some locations, I could get better depth with G2 on silver and clad coins than I could with the Omega, because the G2 handles the EMI better and it could be run at a higher sensitivity. On nickels and gold rings the G2 is hands down the winner over the Omega.
